We Built Historic Delray – One Block at a Time

2025 LEGO EVENT

This past Saturday, history came to life in the Old School Square gymnasium as nearly 30 teams of parents, teens, and kids gathered for an unforgettable afternoon of creativity and community. Armed with inspiration and more than 100,000 Lego pieces, participants recreated beloved historic buildings from around Delray Beach—block by colorful block. The results? Remarkably detailed mini-masterpieces and lots of smiling faces. Each finished building was placed on a giant map of Delray Beach, giving everyone a bird’s-eye view of the city’s architectural past. It was an inspiring way to connect the next generation with our city’s rich heritage. Special thanks to architect Stephen Schwartz, who led the event alongside the Delray Beach Preservation Trust, and to the Downtown Development Authority for generously donating the space. We’re already dreaming up our next event—stay tuned!
